Trip Report: Edith is a high point of two counties, and falls into that category of objectives where timing good conditions is tough. Starting nearly 7 miles from the Edith Lake Trailhead, our team spent the morning transitioning dozens of times between mud and snow. The snowmobile saw more miles of mud and dirt than snow that day, which made for lengthy transitions trying to tow a team of 5. Snow started at around 8,000 feet, and sadly was melted/wind blown out for about a hundred yards all around the summit. The crater shaped feature South East of the summit made for excellent skiing, and would be fun to return to mid-winter with deeper snow.
