Trip Report: As many sources state, the North Fork approach to Wilson Peak is short, stout, and heavily exposed to avalanche terrain. Luckily the January snowpack was odd, and the draught stabilized the snowpack. The last 50 yards of the Billboard offered some thought provoking postholing, and the snow stopped just short of the summit leaving our descent somewhat incomplete. onX promised us ~7.4 miles round trip, and somehow once back at the car our watches said 11.3 miles. We’re most likely just awful at navigating. Perhaps we’ll return one day for the last few feet of skiing, as the rest was lovely.
